The Tomich Hotel, Tomich, Beauly IV4 7LY  is situated on the edge of the beautiful Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, close to the spectacular Plodda Falls, but only 45 minutes from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.  This family run hotel is the perfect Highland hideaway in a stunning part of the country, with the wild and remote glens offering magnificent scenery in an area rich in natural heritage and steeped in history.  The owners write "Yes we do welcome dogs to the Hotel for residents and non residents. For non residents dogs are allowed in the Bar and Bar restaurant and for residents dogs are allowed into the bedrooms as well.  During the shoulder cooler months we do have a log burner in the bar and the dogs love spreading out in front of it - most have had their legs walked off on the wonderful walks around the area!! We also have a garden where during the summer months people are welcome to being their dogs into this as well.  We are definitely dog friendly!"

The Strathspey Railway,  Aviemore Station, Dalfaber Road, Aviemore PH22 1PY - The only steam railway in the Scottish Highlands.  Dogs are more than welcome on board as long as they are not in any dining areas or First Class areas.  We would request that your dog is kept on a lead at all times and is kept off the seats!  Full return trips last just over 90 minutes.  Visit the website.

The Lochain Bar, Glenmore Lodge, Aviemore, Inverness-Shire PH22 1QU the perfect venue for an evening meal or a drink in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Although the bar is located within Glenmore Lodge, Scotland’s National Outdoor Training Centre, non residents are as warmly welcomed as anyone booked on a course. The bar offers a relaxed and friendly environment for all, including families.

The bar serves a wide range of drinks including a good selection of Scottish Whisky as well as local Cairngorm beers. The restaurant and grill serves some excellent locally sourced food, whilst offering spectacular views of the Cairngorms. Our menu caters for vegetarians & gluten free diets.  The bar is open daily from 5pm until late.  Your well behaved dog is welcome in the bar.

The Havelock

Your dog is welcome to come with you into the bar.  Dining at the Havelock is a relaxed affair with bar meals served in the Havelock bar.  The Havelock has a popular Saturday Steak Night, traditional pub grub and pizzas freshly made in our stone based pizza oven. Food is prepared in-house and cooked to order and has excellent reviews.  A kids menu is available.

The Westerlea Hotel,  Inverness Rd, Nairn IV12 4SD - Open all year, The Westerlea Hotel is a privately owned and run by Chris Reid, a local lad. This beautiful former Victorian home has easy access to the A96 and a is just a few minutes walk from fantastic beaches and golf courses.  Chris Reid, the owner, tells us "well behaved dogs are welcome in the hotel bar, unfortunately as we are only a small hotel we do not allow dogs in the guest bedrooms."

The Mosset Tavern, Gordon St, Forres, Morayshire IV36 1DY - The Mosset Tavern has outdoor seating and ample parking and is located in the heart of Forres in the peaceful setting of the tranquil Rose Garden and the Mosset Duck pond.   The Proprietor tells us "We have a dog friendly public bar at the Tavern which serves food all day with a traditional bar menu and changing daily specials.  We usually have 4 real ale taps on too. The Kimberley Inn, 94 Findhorn, Findhorn IV36 3YJ, for good, hearty pub grub.  They serve wonderful seafood and great desserts. You are welcome to take your dog into the bar and they also have outside seating.

The Steamboat Inn, 15-17 Pitgaveny St, Lossiemouth, Morayshire IV31 6NT is in a lovely setting overlooking the harbour and is dog friendly.

The Abbey Inn, Findhorn Rd, Kinloss, Forres IV36 3TX gets great reviews for friendliness and good food. The Abbey Inn is pet friendly too!

The Kintail Lodge Hotel, Glenshiel, Shiel Bridge IV40 8HL Surrounded by hills, overlooking Loch Duich, this old-world hotel lies 6.4 miles from Eilean Donan Castle.  There's a laid-back restaurant serving local dishes, plus a seasonal conservatory dining area wth loch views. Other amenities include 2 bars, a garden, guest lounges, and complimentary breakfast.  "Dogs are allowed in the Bar and Bedrooms but not the Dining Room and we are dog friendly for both residents and non residents."

The Carrbrige Hotel, Main Street, Carrbridge PH23 3AB -In Cairngorms National Park, this circa-1803 riverside hotel is a 4-minute walk from Carrbridge Golf Club, 9 minutes from Landmark Forest Adventure Park and 15 minutes from Carrbridge train station.  I am pleased to confirm the hotel does allow dogs into the hotel bedroom with guests. We do also allow dogs in the conservatory lounge with their owners while they have a  meal.
Dogs must be kept on a lead when in the hotel public areas at all times.
